The Francis Crick Institute in London is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to join the Chaaban Lab, investigating how protein machines remodel microtubules using cryo-EM, biochemistry, and fluorescence microscopy. You will lead a research project and develop experimental approaches to test mechanistic hypotheses.

The role is a full-time, fixed-term for four years, with a salary from £47,500 per annum plus benefits. Apply by 15 November 2026; sponsorship and Crick facilities support your work.

Qualifications

• PhD in structural biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, biophysics, or related field.
• Experimental expertise in protein biochemistry and cryo-EM, including sample prep and data collection.
• Interest in combining these approaches with quantitative fluorescence microscopy.
• Experience designing experiments, applying statistics, interpreting data, and troubleshooting.

Responsabilités

• Develop and lead a project on molecular mechanisms of cytoskeletal remodeling.
• Produce and characterize recombinant proteins and complexes; establish interaction assays.
• Use cryo-EM and image analysis to study organization and states of assemblies.
• Integrate structural findings with biochemical and fluorescence experiments; contribute to manuscripts.
