Job summary

University of Cambridge is seeking a talented postdoctoral researcher to grow nitride materials and devices for power electronics and characterise the resulting materials.

Based in the Cambridge Centre for Gallium Nitride, you will contribute to the EPSRC UltrAlGaN programme, collaborating across MOVPE and MBE growth to optimise materials and potentially enable basic device fabrication for epitaxy characterisation.

Qualifications

• PhD in Materials Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related area (or nearing completion).
• Extensive crystal growth experience, preferably MOVPE.
• Proven record in nitride semiconductors or related materials.
• Experience in characterising structure and properties using multiple techniques (e.g., XRD, SEM, PL, TEM).
• Strong data presentation skills and ability to communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Manage research activities and generate high-quality data.
• Contribute to the direction of nitride research within the Centre.
• Present data at lab meetings, seminars and international conferences.
• Draft scientific manuscripts and help supervise Masters or PhD students.
