Job summary

The University of Oxford – Department of Physics invites applications for a Post-doctoral Researcher in Aerosols, Clouds and their Interactions with Km-scale Modelling. This EU Horizon Europe RealESM project aims to advance the representation of aerosols and clouds in next-generation km-scale Earth System Models.

Successful applicants will work with international collaborators, present results at meetings, publish in high-impact journals, and may co-advise doctoral students.

Qualifications

• PhD/DPhil in atmospheric physics or related field.
• Strong computing skills: UNIX/Linux, Fortran, Python.
• Experience with aerosols and clouds is essential.

Responsibilities

• Advance aerosol–cloud interaction modelling in km-scale Earth System Models.
• Collaborate with national and international partners.
• Present results at national/international meetings and publish in leading journals.
• Co-advise doctoral students and teach where possible.
