The University of Oxford, Department of Physics, AOPP, invites applications for a post-doctoral researcher focusing on aerosols, clouds and their interactions with km-scale modelling. The role will advance representation in global km-scale Earth System Models and examine aerosol effects on radiative forcing, precipitation and extremes.
You will work with national and international collaborators, disseminate results at meetings and in high-impact publications, and may co-advise doctoral students.

Applications are invited for a Post-doctoral researcher in aerosols, clouds and their interactions with focus on km-scale modelling.
This position, aligned with the EU Horizon Europe project Next-Generation Earth System Modelling for Realistic Projections of Rapid Climate Evolution in the Coming Decades (RealESM) with partners across Europe, will advance the representation of aerosols, clouds and their interaction in next-generation global km-scale Earth System Models (ESMs) and apply them to assess of aerosol effects on effective radiative forcing, precipitation and extreme events, with a particular focus on convective systems.
Successful applicants will work closely with our national and international collaborators and are expected to develop innovative research approaches. The role also includes the possibility to co-advise doctoral students. Results should be presented at national and international meetings as well as published in leading subject and high-impact publications. The post-holder will have the opportunity to teach.
