Job summary

Royal Mail is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) in Chepstow for a fixed-term six-month contract. The role runs 37 hours per week with a rotating shift, including some weekends. You will deliver letters and parcels, walk long distances, and work outdoors while building strong customer relationships.

You must have a full manual UK driving licence and be physically fit to handle mailbags. The role offers overtime and a Pension, with on-site training at the Chepstow Delivery Office.

Location: Chepstow Delivery Office, NP16 5XA

Job type: Fixed Term contract for six months

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.

Working hours: 37:00 hours per week - working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday - 07:50/16:20*

You'll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You'll be required to work Sundays at Newport East Delivery Office.

About You

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
