Job summary

Royal Mail in Faversham is seeking a Part-time Delivery Driver for a fixed-term 6-month contract. You will work 15.00 hours per week on Saturdays and Sundays, driving a Royal Mail van, delivering letters and parcels, and engaging with customers on your route.

The role requires a full manual UK driving licence, the ability to pass a driving assessment, and physical fitness to walk long distances. Training is provided, with overtime opportunities and a supportive benefits package.

Job type: Fixed Term contract 6 months

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available. Working hours: 15.00hours per week – working Saturday - Sunday – 07:19/16:00*

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

What to expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily
• Working in all weather conditions
• Delivering letters and high volumes of parcels
• Busy, time-pressured days, especially during peak periods

About you

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
