Job summary

Royal Mail in St Austell is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) for a fixed-term 6-month contract. You will deliver letters and parcels, drive a Royal Mail van, and work on a rotating shift schedule that includes weekends.

The role requires a full manual UK driving licence (limited to 6 penalty points), physical fitness for walking long distances, and the ability to work outdoors and independently while providing excellent customer service.

Location: St Austell Delivery Office, PL25 3PP

Job type: Fixed Term contract (6 months)

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.

Working hours: 30:00 hours per week – working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday – 09:00 - 15:00/14:00 - 20:00*

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You’ll be required to work Sundays at Plymouth Delivery Office.

What To Expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily

About You

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:
