Royal Mail in Malton (YO17 7HS) is hiring a Postie to deliver letters and parcels across the local area. This is a fixed term contract for 6 months, working 30 hours per week with a rotating shift including some weekends.

You’ll need a full manual UK driving licence, enjoy working outdoors, and be comfortable walking long distances. We provide full training, a uniform, and a red Royal Mail van to help you serve your community.

Location: Malton Delivery Office, YO17 7HS

Job type: Fixed Term contract ( 6 months )

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.

Working hours: 30:00 hours per week – working 5 days across Monday - Sunday – 08:00/16:00*

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You’ll be required to work some Sundays at Malton Delivery Office, YO17 7HS, 11am to 5pm

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily

About You

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
