Royal Mail Group in Edenbridge is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) for a 6-month fixed-term role. The position involves delivering letters and parcels, sorting mail at the office, and working on a rotating shift including weekends.

Role requires a full manual UK driving licence, ability to drive a Royal Mail van daily, and fitness to walk long distances. Training, a uniform, and a red van are provided.

Job type: Fixed Termcontract6 months

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.
Working hours: 30.00hours per week - working 5days in 7 across Monday - Sunday - 07:00 - 15:30/14:30 - 21:00*

You'll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

What to expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily
• Working in all weather conditions
• Delivering letters and high volumes of parcels
• Busy, time-pressured days, especially during peak periods

About you

We'll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You'll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Strong Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
