Royal Mail is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) in Bude to deliver letters and parcels across the local area. You will work on a rotating shift, including weekends, with hours and routes confirmed by your rota.

Job type: Fixed Term 12 months

Salary: £13.68 per hour (paid monthly) + paid overtime available. Working hours: 34 hours per week - working 5days in 7 across Monday - Saturday - 08:10 Mon-Fri [07:40 on Sat]/16:40 M-Fri [ But 16:30 on Weds & 15:20 on Sat]*

What to expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily
• Working in all weather conditions
• Delivering letters and high volumes of parcels
• Busy, time-pressured days, especially during peak periods

About you

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
