Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Belper is seeking a part-time Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) for a fixed-term 12-month period. You will sort letters and parcels at the delivery office, then deliver by van and on foot within your local area, building relationships with customers while working outdoors in all weather.

The role requires a full manual UK driving licence (limited penalty points) and the ability to drive a Royal Mail van.

Location: Belper Delivery Office, DE56 1UU

Job type: Fixed Termcontrac t(12 months)

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.
Working hours: 30:00hours per week - working 5days in 7 across Monday - Sunday - 08:00/16:00*

You'll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You'll be required to work Sundays at Derby Delivery Office.

What to expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily

About you

We'll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You'll need:

• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
