Job summary

Pertemps is recruiting on behalf of Royal Mail in Porthcawl for Postal Delivery Workers. You'll start in the delivery office, sort mail, collect vehicle or trolley and hand-held device, then deliver letters and parcels to the local community.

Role requires a full UK manual driving licence, up to 6 penalty points, and the ability to work outdoors in various weathers. A DBS check is required before starting. Shifts are 5 days per week, between 08:00 and 20:00.

Qualifications

• Must be able to complete a full DBS security check prior to starting work.
• Full UK manual driving licence (current address in the UK).
• Maximum 6 penalty points and no IN/DD/DR/CD endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Sort and gather mail at the local delivery office and plan the route.
• Deliver letters and parcels to the local community using allocated vehicle or trolley and hand-held device.
• Work as part of a team or alone, outdoors in all weather conditions.

Job description

Due to an increase in demand, Pertemps are working in partnership with the Royal Mail to source Postal Delivery Workers to support with their busy operation.

Location:Porthcawl

Shift: 5 days per week between Monday - Sunday between 08:00 - 20:00

Hourly Rate: £13.69 per hour

About the role:

You’ll start your day in the local delivery office, sorting and gathering the mail needed for your route. You will collect your allocated vehicle or trolley and your hand-held computer device (detailing your route and tracking your mail) and then deliver the letters and parcels to your local community.

About You

• The ideal candidate for this role will be upbeat, self-motivated, and happy to work alone as well as part of a team.
• You will be helpful and approachable displaying a strong sense of community, as you get to know the people you meet on your round.
• Royal Mail deliver parcels whatever the weather, so you will enjoy working outdoors and due to the amount of walking required you will need to be relatively fit and healthy.
• You will be smartly presented, always acting in a professional and courteous manner.

Previous Experience

• Some previous experience in a customer facing or delivery role would be ideal but not essential.
• You will be required to complete a full DBS security check prior to commencing work.
