Job summary

Pertemps are partnering with Royal Mail to source Postal Delivery Workers in Bridgend. You will start in the local delivery office, sort mail for your route, and be assigned a vehicle or trolley with a handheld device to track deliveries.

The role involves delivering letters and parcels to the community, working outdoors, and maintaining a professional, courteous approach. A DBS check and a full UK driving licence are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer-facing or delivery roles preferred but not required.
• DBS security check required prior to starting.
• Full UK manual driving licence with current address.
• Maximum 6 penalty points; endorsements IN/DD/DR/CD not accepted.

Job description

Due to an increase in demand, Pertemps are working in partnership with the Royal Mail to source Postal Delivery Workers to support with their busy operation.

Location: Bridgend

Shift: 5 days per week between Monday - Sunday between 08:00 - 20:00

Hourly Rate: £13.69 per hour

About the role

You'll start your day in the local delivery office, sorting and gathering the mail needed for your route. You will collect your allocated vehicle or trolley and your hand-held computer device (detailing your route and tracking your mail) and then deliver the letters and parcels to your local community.

About You

• The ideal candidate for this role will be upbeat, self-motivated, and happy to work alone as well as part of a team.
• You will be helpful and approachable displaying a strong sense of community, as you get to know the people you meet on your round.
• Royal Mail deliver parcels whatever the weather, so you will enjoy working outdoors and due to the amount of walking required you will need to be relatively fit and healthy.
• You will be smartly presented, always acting in a professional and courteous manner.

Previous Experience

• Some previous experience in a customer facing or delivery role would be ideal but not essential.
• You will be required to complete a full DBS security check prior to commencing work.
