Job summary

Royal Mail is hiring a Grimsby Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) for a 6-month fixed term contract. The role is based at Grimsby Delivery Office (DN31 3AR) and pays £13.68 per hour, with paid overtime and 30 hours per week across 5 days in 7 with rotating shifts.

You will deliver letters and parcels, walk long distances, and drive a Royal Mail van daily on a rotating schedule, including Sundays (3 in 4) and varying routes based on demand. Training and a uniform are provided.

Qualifications

• Full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs/hills, and lifting/carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently

Location: Grimsby Delivery Office, DN31 3AR

Job type: Fixed Term contract 6 months

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.

Working hours: 30.00 hours per week – working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday with various shift times between 07:00-17:00*

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You’ll be required to work 3 in 4 Sundays at Grimsby Delivery Office.

About You

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:
