Job summary

Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Recovery Practitioner to provide post‑operative support across elective surgeries, emergency care and maternity. You will contribute to safe, timely, patient‑centered care within the Recovery Department and related services, mentoring staff and supporting education across Bedford Hospital sites.

The role requires RGN/ODP qualifications with current registration, strong post‑operative expertise and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse (NMC) or ODP with current registration.
• Strong knowledge of post‑operative care needs.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Highly motivated, adaptable and professional.

Responsibilities

• Work as a skilled member of the recovery team delivering high standards of patient care.
• Develop and maintain clinical skills to provide holistic, evidence‑based nursing care.
• Monitor standards and manage controlled drugs as per policy.
• Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary team members and patients.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure patient safety, privacy and dignity.
