Job summary

Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking sessional Post 19 tutors to deliver Accredited and Non-Accredited programmes at Sefton Adult Education Centre and other venues in the borough. Roles are casual with flexible hours and zero hours per week, offering community-focused teaching opportunities.

Applicants should have experience teaching adults, a creative delivery style, and a commitment to safeguarding.

Qualifications

• Experience of teaching adult learners and supporting them to achieve accredited qualifications.
• A creative and engaging approach to planning and delivering high-quality learning experiences.
• A genuine commitment to helping every learner succeed and reach their full potential.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build confidence and encourage participation.
• Proven experience planning, delivering, and assessing effective learning programmes.
• The flexibility to teach at various community venues across the borough.
• A sound understanding of safeguarding and Prevent responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver courses across Maths, ESOL, IT, and other adult education areas.
• Plan, deliver and assess learning activities and programmes.
• Create engaging, inclusive learning environments for diverse learners.
• Support learners to achieve accredited qualifications where possible.
• Coordinate sessions across multiple community venues and times.
