Job summary

Ngccare in Southampton is seeking a dedicated Post-16 Support Worker to empower young people aged 16 and over. You will provide one-to-one and group support, helping them access education, training, apprenticeships, and employment opportunities while developing independent living skills.

The role emphasises safeguarding, person-centred practice and collaboration with families, colleges, and other professionals to enable successful transitions into adulthood.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Experience engaging and motivating young people aged 16–25 is desirable.
• Understanding safeguarding and working with vulnerable young people is important.
• Ability to build trust while maintaining professional boundaries and to work within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships with young people and families.
• Provide one-to-one and group support tailored to individual needs.
• Assist with accessing education, training, employment, and volunteering opportunities.
• Develop independent living skills such as budgeting, cooking, and travel training.
• Support goal setting, action planning, and personal development.
• Promote wellbeing, resilience and self-confidence; advocate for young people.
