Job summary

Cambrian United FC is seeking a Post-16 Education & Community Tutor to deliver a new education pathway for young people across Rhondda Cynon Taf, in partnership with Cardiff City FC Community Foundation. The role focuses on BTEC Sport provision across Levels 1–3, learner recruitment and pastoral support, with a strong emphasis on community sport engagement.

Based at Cambrian M&P 3G, Clydach Vale, you will work with schools, families and partner organisations to create a positive learning

Qualifications

• Experience of working with young people in education, FE, community or sport settings.
• Experience in classroom, tutoring or structured learning delivery.
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging teaching and learning sessions.
• Ability to engage, motivate and support disengaged learners.
• Ability to assess learner progress and maintain records.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience building relationships with schools, families and partners.
• Strong organisational skills and prioritisation.
• Understanding safeguarding responsibilities with young people.
• Ability to work independently and in partnership teams.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver teaching across the Post-16 BTEC Sport curriculum.
• Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans and resources.
• Assess and mark learner work, contribute to moderation.
• Monitor attendance, engagement, achievement and progression.
• Provide pastoral guidance and information, advice and guidance.
• Adapt teaching to individual learner needs and starting points.
• Support progression into further education, training or employment.
• Develop links with partner schools and careers teams.
• Help identify and recruit learners for the programme.
• Deliver taster sessions and attend progression events.
• Maintain records and contribute to monitoring/reporting.
• Collaborate with Cardiff City FC Community Foundation on QA and curriculum review.
• Deliver community sport, activity and engagement sessions.
• Support outreach activity with schools and local partners.
• Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion.
