Job summary

Bright Star Talent is recruiting for a welcoming specialist school in Birmingham (B23) to start in September. You will provide 1:1 and small group behaviour support, building safe, engaged learners inside and outside the classroom.

You will work with pupils with ASC, SEMH, ADHD and other needs, implementing strategies and promoting emotional regulation. The role includes reporting progress and upholding safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting pupils with additional needs and behavioural challenges.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection.

Responsibilities

  • Building positive relationships with pupils through consistency and encouragement.
  • Supporting pupils with ASC, SEMH, ADHD and other needs.

Through our growing partnership with the school's wider organisation, we are now working closely with the leadership team to recruit exceptional staff for September. About the Opportunity

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning. You'll work closely with pupils who require additional behavioural and emotional support, helping them feel safe, engaged and confident both inside and outside the classroom.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Providing 1:1 and small group behaviour support.
  • Building positive relationships with pupils through consistency, patience and encouragement.
  • Supporting pupils with Autism (ASC), SEMH, ADHD and other additional needs.
  • Implementing behaviour support strategies and promoting emotional regulation.
  • Working alongside teachers to maintain a calm and positive learning environment.
  • Encouraging independence, confidence and resilience.
  • Recording progress and reporting observations to teaching staff.
  • Promoting safeguarding and pupil wellbeing at all times.
