Job summary

Luminate in Melksham, Wiltshire is recruiting an experienced Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Manager to lead PBS development, delivery and evaluation across the organisation. You will work with individuals, families and multidisciplinary teams to shape practice and build team capability for compassionate, person-centred support.

We are seeking a regulated PBS/ABA professional with teaching qualifications and extensive post-registration experience.

Qualifications

  • Postgraduate qualification in PBS or ABA is required.
  • Recognised teaching qualification such as PTLLS or Level 3 Award in Education and
  • At least 5 years’ post-registration experience in PBS or related field.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
  • Trauma-informed approach is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development, delivery and evaluation of PBS across the organisation.
  • Collaborate with individuals, families and multidisciplinary teams to develop PBS approaches.
  • Provide expert PBS guidance across services and during transitions.
  • Develop and evaluate tools and resources to improve care quality.
  • Promote reflective practice and data-informed reviews.
  • Develop colleagues’ PBS knowledge and practical skills.

Full-time | 40 hours per week

We’re recruiting for an experienced Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Manager to join an established and values-led care provider supporting adults, children and young people with learning disabilities and complex needs.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced PBS professional who wants to make a genuine impact across multiple services.

This is more than a training role. You’ll play a key part in shaping culture, influencing practice and developing the confidence and capability of teams to deliver compassionate, person-centred support.

The Role

As PBS Manager, you’ll lead the development, delivery and evaluation of Positive Behaviour Support and mandatory training across the organisation.

Working collaboratively with individuals, families and multidisciplinary teams, you’ll help develop robust and meaningful PBS approaches while providing specialist guidance during transitions and periods of increased complexity.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Supporting functional assessments, risk planning and care plan development
  • Co-producing PBS strategies with individuals, families and teams
  • Providing expert PBS guidance across services
  • Developing and evaluating tools and resources to improve care quality
  • Championing trauma-informed and restorative approaches
  • Promoting reflective practice and data-informed reviews
  • Developing colleagues’ knowledge, confidence and practical PBS skills
About You

We’re looking for someone who combines strong professional expertise with empathy, curiosity and a commitment to enabling independence.

You’ll need:
  • A postgraduate qualification in PBS or ABA
  • A recognised teaching qualification, such as PTLLS or Level 3 Award in Education and
Training
  • At least 5 years’ post-registration experience
  • Strong knowledge of risk, capacity and safeguarding
  • Experience in training delivery, team supervision and care plan development
  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
  • A trauma-informed approach would be highly desirable.

Candidates with professional backgrounds in Learning Disability Nursing, Social Work, Therapies or Allied Health are particularly encouraged to apply, especially those holding regulated registration such as NMC or HCPC.

  • £45,000 per annum depending on experience and qualifications
