Job summary

CNA Hardy is seeking a Portfolio Solutions Underwriter to support growth and governance of facilities, consortia and delegated underwriting arrangements. You will apply data-led portfolio insight and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive sound underwriting decisions in a dynamic Lloyd’s market.

Qualifications

• Understanding of insurance underwriting theories and delegated/portfolio underwriting.
• Experience assessing portfolio performance and making clear recommendations to support referrals and underwriting decisions.
• Knowledge of underwriting governance, due diligence and referral processes.
• Experience in Portfolio Solutions, delegated underwriting or Lloyd's market advantageous; familiarity with PPL and Whitespace platforms.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage delegated arrangements: day-to-day underwriting of existing deals, endorsements and new proposals.
• Assess opportunities: review submissions, contract docs, due diligence materials and financials for alignment with appetite and objectives.
• Oversee governance: monitor activity, ensure compliance with terms and governance frameworks, escalate where needed.
• Analyse portfolio performance: evaluate profitability, mix and trends using data to identify risks and opportunities.
• Build partnerships: work with Actuarial, Delegated Underwriting, ECM, Compliance, Finance, brokers and stakeholders.
