Reed is seeking a Portfolio Manager who can operate with independence in client management and technical decision-making. The role involves managing a portfolio of clients with minimal supervision and maintaining high standards in financial management and client satisfaction.

Day-to-day includes setting up clients, defining scope and budgets, submitting management accounts and VAT returns on time, and possibly leading direct reports.

Formación

• Proven experience in portfolio management and direct staff management.
• Strong bookkeeping skills and quarterly VAT returns.
• Knowledge of cross-border VAT rules and related VAT concepts.
• Up-to-date knowledge of accounting systems to drive process improvement and efficiency.
• Leadership and ability to resolve issues proactively and lead by example.
• Ability to drive process change and seek efficiency opportunities.
• Understanding of chargeable hours, WIP balance, monthly/quarterly billing, and client recoverability.

Responsabilidades

We are seeking a Portfolio Manager who demonstrates independence in client management and technical decision-making. This role is ideal for someone ready to manage a portfolio of clients with minimal supervision, ensuring high standards in financial management and client satisfaction.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Independently manage a portfolio of clients, including setting up clients, defining scope of work, agreeing on budgets, and executing work to the highest standards.
• Submit all management accounts and VATs on time, maintaining a high standard of review.
• Potentially manage one or more direct reports, handling day-to-day queries and reviewing their work to ensure top quality.
• Ensure all statutory accounts are booked within 3 months of the year-end and completed within 6 weeks of booking.
• Assess workload of direct reports and ensure optimal productivity, raising any issues with the Senior Manager or Director.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience in portfolio management and direct staff management.
• Strong technical skills in bookkeeping and quarterly VAT returns.
• Knowledge of cross-border VAT, land-based VAT rules, goods vs services basis rules, reverse charge cross-border, and construction scheme.
• Up-to-date knowledge of advancements in the accounting system market to drive process improvement and efficiency.
• Leadership skills, including the ability to resolve issues proactively and lead by example.
• Ability to drive process change and look for efficiency opportunities.
• Understanding of key financial metrics such as chargeable hours, WIP balance, monthly/quarterly billing, and recoverability by client
