Job summary

Sharp Consultancy is assisting a Leeds-based retail company in finding an experienced Finance Manager, Management Accountant, or Bookkeeper to support a developing finance function. The role involves overseeing bookkeeping, VAT, payroll, and monthly management reporting for a small portfolio of businesses.

Ideally you will be CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified and already operating on a portfolio or outsourced basis, bringing strategic financial insight and practical support to owners.

Qualifications

• CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified accountant ideal.
• Portfolio/outsourced experience a plus.
• Experience supporting multiple client businesses.

Responsibilities

• Managing day-to-day bookkeeping and maintaining accurate financial records.
• Processing and reconciling sales and purchase transactions.
• Managing bank reconciliations and monitoring cash position.
• Preparing VAT information and supporting submissions.
• Producing monthly management information, including P&L and balance sheet reports.
• Managing monthly payroll and associated pension administration.
• Assisting with cash-flow forecasting, budgeting and financial planning.
• Providing financial information and insight to senior management.
• Dealing with ad hoc finance and administrative requirements as necessary.

Job description

Are you an experienced Finance Manager, Management Accountant or Bookkeeper who enjoys working with a small number of businesses and is looking to add another client to your existing portfolio?

An expanding retail company within Leeds requires an experienced CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified accountant to add support to their developing finance function.

Working closely with the owners you will oversee all elements of management accounts, financial reporting and payroll. You will be expected to work independently, identify issues and opportunities within the financial information, and provide practical support and insight where appropriate.

The role will include:

• Managing day-to-day bookkeeping and maintaining accurate financial records
• Processing and reconciling sales and purchase transactions
• Managing bank reconciliations and monitoring cash position
• Preparing VAT information and supporting relevant submissions
• Maintaining accounting records and ensuring transactions are correctly allocated
• Producing monthly management information, including profit and loss and balance sheet reports
• Reviewing financial performance and highlighting significant movements or trends
• Managing monthly payroll and associated pension administration
• Processing business expenses
• Assisting with cash-flow forecasting, budgeting and financial planning
• Supporting routine financial and statutory administration
• Providing financial information and insight to senior management
• Dealing with ad hoc finance and administrative requirements as necessary

Ideally you will be a CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified accountant who already operates on a portfolio or outsourced basis and may be looking to add a further client to your existing workload.
