Job summary

The AA seeks a Portfolio Demand Analyst in Basingstoke to help understand and shape the pipeline of change across the Transformation function. You will sit at the point where new ideas enter the portfolio, assess requests, define ownership and priorities, and use data to improve clarity on capacity and delivery.

In this role you’ll work with stakeholders, maintain the quarterly roadmap, produce dashboards and insights, and look for smarter ways to manage demand and portfolio information.

Qualifications

• Experience in PMO, project or portfolio support environments.
• Ability to understand demand, assess requests and prioritise work streams.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills with the ability to turn data into clear actions.
• Proficient in analysing data to identify trends and inform decision making.
• Comfort with digital tools (Excel, Power BI) and collaboration platforms (Jira, Confluence).
• Willingness to learn and adapt within portfolio and demand management.

• Produce dashboards and insights to help stakeholders understand demand, capacity and delivery commitments.
• Identify smarter ways of working to improve processes, tools and approaches for managing demand and portfolio information.

Are you naturally curious about how things work and how they could work better?

We’re looking for a Portfolio Demand Analyst to join our Transformation function and help us understand, coordinate and shape the pipeline of change taking place across The AA. Working within our Demand & Roadmap team, you’ll sit at the point where new ideas, initiatives and change requirements enter the portfolio. You’ll help make sense of incoming demand, ask the right questions, connect the right people and use data to provide greater clarity around priorities, capacity and our roadmap.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with PMO, project or portfolio support experience who wants to broaden their exposure and develop further within portfolio and demand management. We’re looking for someone inquisitive and comfortable looking beyond the immediate task, with the confidence to challenge existing ways of working, spot opportunities for improvement and bring fresh thinking.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the management of incoming change and initiative requests, helping capture, assess, track and progress demand through our Single Front Door process
• Work with stakeholders across the business to understand requests, ask the right questions and help establish ownership, priorities and next steps
• Analyse demand and portfolio information to identify trends, bottlenecks, dependencies and opportunities for improvement
• Support the maintenance of our quarterly roadmap, ensuring information remains accurate and changes, risks and dependencies are clearly understood
• Produce clear reporting, dashboards and insights that help stakeholders understand demand, capacity and delivery commitments
• Look for smarter ways of working, helping improve the processes, tools and approaches we use to manage demand and portfolio information

What Do I Need?

You’ll Bring

• Experience within a PMO, project support, portfolio support or similar environment, giving you an understanding of how change and delivery activity is coordinated
• An inquisitive and solution focused mindset, with the confidence to look at the bigger picture, ask the right questions and constructively challenge existing approaches rather than simply following a process
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and turn sometimes ambiguous information into clear actions
• Strong organisation and analytical skills, with an eye for detail and the ability to manage competing priorities while remaining adaptable in a changing environment
• Confidence working with data and digital tools such as Excel, Power BI, Jira, Confluence or similar, using information to identify trends, produce insight and support effective decision making
• A genuine appetite to learn, develop and take ownership, with an interest in portfolio and demand management and ideally some exposure to Agile ways of working, demand intake, roadmaps or broader portfolio processes
