Intact Insurance is transforming UK security across a broad portfolio of change initiatives. The Portfolio Security Technical Consultant provides hands-on security consultancy, embedding secure design into delivery and ensuring alignment with policies and regulatory expectations.

You will assess risks, review designs, and support governance across programmes. The role requires strong cyber security knowledge across domains, with pragmatic application to varied technologies and delivery contexts.

The Portfolio Security Technical Consultant is a role within Security Strategy, Architecture & Portfolio Security, reporting to the Portfolio Security Manager. The role provides hands‑on security consultancy across a broad portfolio of change, technology and business initiatives. ensuring security is embedded effectively across delivery and aligned to internal policies, standards and regulatory expectations. It requires someone with a good depth of technical cyber security knowledge across multiple domains, with the ability to apply that knowledge pragmatically across varied technologies, solutions and delivery contexts.

You'll make an impact by:

• Providing security consultancy across project and programme portfolios
• Assessing solutions to ensure they are secure by design and aligned to security policies, standards and regulatory expectations
• Identify, assess and help manage security risks and control gaps
• Reviewing and challenging technical designs, architectures, integrations and data flows from a security perspective
• Supporting portfolio-level governance, assurance and reporting on security across change initiatives

Your skills and experience:

• Strong understanding of security architecture and secure design principles across business applications, infrastructure, networks and cloud-based services
• Broad practical knowledge of application, infrastructure and cloud security concepts, including identity and access management, encryption, logging and monitoring, vulnerability management and data protection controls
• Experience embedding security into change delivery frameworks such as Agile, Waterfall and hybrid delivery models across complex portfolios
• Ability to provide technical review, challenge and advice on solution architectures, data flows, integration patterns and supplier proposals from a security perspective
