Job summary

Intact Insurance, rebranded in the UK, Ireland and Europe, is expanding its Cyber Engineering function. The role focuses on delivering and maintaining security controls and platforms, collaborating with CISO and CIO teams, and ensuring compliance with policy and standards.

You will work with incident response, threat intelligence and security engineering teammates to strengthen protection while supporting documentation and procedures.

Qualifications

• Foundational understanding of cyber security principles and security operations.
• Awareness of controls across endpoints, networks, cloud and data protection.
• Basic understanding of infrastructure environments including servers and cloud services.
• Ability to follow defined technical procedures and standards.
• Familiarity with risk concepts, vulnerability management and secure configuration basics.
• Knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST, CIS, ISO 27001 or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery, maintenance and ongoing improvement of security controls and services across Cyber Operations and Engineering.
• Assist engineers in reviewing changes against security standards and operational requirements.
• Maintain coverage and hygiene of security tooling and defined processes.
• Contribute to investigation, analysis and remediation of security issues and risks.
• Support the production of service documentation, procedures and evidence.

Win as a Team:

This role forms part of the Cyber Engineering function and will work closely with key functions across CISO and CIO, including Central support, CCoE teams, DevOps, Attack Surface Management, SOC/Incident Response, Threat Intelligence and Security Engineering teams. The role will support the operation, maintenance and continuous improvement of security controls and platforms, helping to ensure they remain protected and aligned with policy, standards and agreed ways of working.

You’ll make an impact by:

• Supporting the delivery, maintenance and continuous improvement of security controls, platforms and services across the Cyber Operations and Engineering function.
• Assisting engineers and specialists in reviewing technical changes, solutions and designs against agreed security standards, policies and operational requirements.
• Help maintain the coverage, currency and operational hygiene of security tooling, ensuring defined processes and procedures are followed.
• Contribute to the investigation, analysis and remediation of security issues, escalating risks, blockers or decisions where guidance is required.
• Supporting the production and maintenance of service documentation, technical procedures, control evidence and operational records.

Your skills and experience:

• Foundational understanding of cyber security principles, security operations and security engineering practices.
• Awareness of common security controls and technologies across areas such as endpoint, network, identity, cloud and data protection.
• Basic understanding of infrastructure and technology environments, including servers, networks, cloud services and end-user computing.
• Ability to follow defined technical procedures, standards and operational processes accurately and consistently.
• Awareness of security frameworks, policies and standards such as NIST, CIS, ISO 27001 or equivalent control frameworks.
• Developing understanding of risk, control effectiveness, vulnerability management and secure configuration principles.
