Job summary

Tees Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Porter Housekeeper for the Hotel Services Team at Lanchester Road Hospital, Durham. The role involves cleaning and catering duties across office, patient and communal areas, with a focus on patient care and a supportive environment.

Porter Housekeeper

We require friendly, positive thinking, organised, motivated individuals to work as a Porter Housekeeper within the Trusts Hotel Services Team at Lanchester Road Hospital Durham.

Porter Housekeepers are responsible to provide and maintain cleaning and catering services as part of the Hotel Services team to office, patient and communal areas within the Trust. Ensuring a clean, safe and supportive environment for staff and patients working towards their recovery.

You will need to be passionate and enthusiastic about patient care putting patients at the heart of everything you do. You will be working in a multi-professional team and will need to be able to think on the spot and be empathetic. You will be passionate about our business, creating a culture of continuous improvement.

The post holder will be based at Lanchester Road Hospital Durham DH1 5 RD and will be required to work 4 different shift pattern 6.30-3 7-15.30 2-10 and 22.00-7.

Experience in cleaning duties and use of chemicals and equipment are essential as you will be working in a demanding environment. Catering and food service experience would be beneficial along with a passion to providing high standards of customer service.

You must have the Right to Work in the UK in order to be successfully appointed to this role. Please note, this role does not meet the required eligibility criteria for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa and therefore the Trust is unable to offer sponsorship for this particular role.

Main duties of the job

The successful postholder will provide cleaning and catering services as part of a team, to office, patient and communal areas within the Trust.

You will interact compassionately with patients and carers at all times. Patients have a range of mental health conditions or learning disabilities.

In addition to this, the postholder will show commitment to and participate in quality improvement activities.

You will promote at all times a positive image of people with mental health conditions and learning disabilities, and promote at all times a positive image of Hotel Services and the wider Trust.
