Job summary

An established industry player is seeking a Port Planner to join their London office. In this role, you will be instrumental in the planning, analysis, and design of port cargo facilities, particularly container terminals. Qualifications

  • 3 to 6 years of port planning, engineering, and management experience required.

Job description

Moffatt & Nichol specializes in large complex waterfront infrastructure projects and is recognized as one of the worldwide leaders in this field. We are actively looking for a Port Planner to join our London office. As part of the Planner Group, the Port Planner will be responsible for planning, analysis, and design of port cargo facilities, with a specific emphasis on container terminals, but also with an understanding of Ro-Ro, energy, breakbulk and bulk terminal operations.

  • Knowledge of planning, operational analysis and design development of container terminal operations and infrastructure improvements
  • Ability to Identify, analyze, and prepare terminal optimization plans including new container handling systems
  • Familiarity with due diligence studies for new terminals, retrofit terminals and/or port systems
  • Demonstrated ability to work in complex environments both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to isolate key issues and draw sound conclusions
  • Proficiency in the use of Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proactive, enquiring approach
  • Strong communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders of all levels
  • A European language (in addition to English) is highly desirable
  • Willingness to travel is also required
