Job summary

Port Operative at Peel Ports in Glasgow is responsible for safe and efficient port operations. You will operate plant and equipment, report defects and maintain high housekeeping standards while supporting a strong safety culture.

You will work across a range of operational activities, with opportunities to develop skills through training and multi-skilled roles. Experience in port environments and specific equipment is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience operating loading shovels, 360 excavators, FLTs and telehandlers.
• Experience in an industrial or port environment.
• Ability to work safely at height and adapt to changing demands.
• Holding NPORS Slinger/Signaller qualification (or equivalent) is beneficial.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.

• Operate plant, machinery and equipment in port operations.
• Report defects and maintain high standards of housekeeping.
• Support a positive safety culture and procedures.
• Engage in training and multi-skilled working across operational activities.
