Job summary

Davenant Foundation School in Essex is seeking a part-time vocal tutor to teach pop and musical theatre singing, delivering up to three hours of lessons weekly. You will work with students individually and in groups to build technique, stage presence and confidence across contemporary styles.

The role sits within the Performing Arts department and prepares students for school productions, showcases and external exams.

Job description

Davenant Foundation School needs a part-time vocal tutor to teach pop and musical theatre singing, working up to three hours a week. The work centres on individual and group lessons that build students' technical skill, stage presence and confidence across contemporary pop, commercial styles and musical theatre repertoire. The post sits alongside the Performing Arts department and prepares students for school productions, showcases and external exams. Fit depends on an enhanced DBS check and eligibility to work in the UK, as visa sponsorship is not available.

What’s required

Experience

• Prior pop and musical theatre vocal teaching experience in a school context
• Preparing students for ABRSM, Guildhall or Rock School exams
• Leading and rehearsing choirs, where applicable
