Job summary

2K Polymer Systems (UK), part of Marmon Holdings, seeks a Product Development Chemist to support development, testing and improvement of our polymer product portfolio. The role covers laboratory research, formulation, quality investigations and transferring new products to production.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, customers and suppliers while ensuring compliance with quality, safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths required.
• Degree level or above in chemistry (or equivalent).
• Some experience in a manufacturing business involving 2-component polymer chemistry.
• Experience in a commercial laboratory with a range of testing techniques.

Responsibilities

• Complete allocated product development tasks to timetable, standards and budgets.
• Ensure R&D laboratory functions meet quality, health & safety standards and equipment is maintained.
• Keep accurate records of testing and research activities.
• Support transfer of new/modified products from lab to production.
• Liaise with Quality Manager on specifications and QC matters.
• Investigate customer and supplier complaints to identify root causes and actions.
