Job summary

Suscom Industries in Wigan is offering a Level 3 Polymer Processing Technician apprenticeship. You'll join a small production team, gain hands‑on experience in manufacturing, inspection and packaging, and learn to operate injection moulding equipment.

Over 22 months you'll complete on‑the‑job training plus online modules, with a mentor guiding you. The programme focuses on safety, quality and developing practical skills for a long‑term manufacturing career.

Qualifications

• Be 18 or over
• Not be in full‑time education
• Have lived in the UK for at least 3 years
• Have the right to work in the UK

Responsibilities

• Support the manufacture and packaging of office furniture components in an injection moulding environment
• Inspect finished components through visual and physical checks to ensure they meet quality standards
• Carry out flash trimming to remove excess material from products where required
• Complete hourly weight checks and record results
• Package finished products according to the required specifications and standards
• Learn to identify basic machine errors and report them to a supervisor
• Use equipment such as pallet trucks, milling machines and pillar drills when required
• Monitor and record scrap materials and report any production or quality issues to supervisors
• Maintain clean, tidy and organised work areas to support efficient production
• Follow company procedures, health and safety requirements and correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Carry out manual handling tasks, including lifting, moving and packing products and boxes
• Work independently and as part of a small team, supporting colleagues and other areas of the business when needed
