Job summary

Tiro is offering a Level 3 Process Industries Manufacturing Technician apprenticeship in a highly technical environment at its Letchworth Garden City site. You will gain hands-on experience in heat-treatment operations while developing engineering and manufacturing skills alongside experienced teams.

The programme includes blended learning over 22 months with online, in-person training and a dedicated workplace mentor, plus at least 6 hours per week of off-the-job training.

Qualifications

• Aged 18+ and willing to work in an industrial environment.
• At least one year of experience in an industrial setting (factory, manufacturing or production).
• Good basic IT skills and confidence in using computers to enter information and learn new software.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day heat-treating and manufacturing processes.
• Work with production equipment and learn safe, effective operation.
• Collect and analyse process data to understand performance.
• Help investigate technical issues and identify potential solutions.
• Assist with equipment reliability, maintenance activities and problem-solving.
• Learn how instruments and software monitor manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with production, quality and engineering colleagues to record technical information.
• Follow quality and safety procedures and participate in continuous improvement projects.
