Job summary

Liverpool City Council is seeking a Team Leader (Policy Planning) to lead the Planning Policy team, deliver the Local Plan, and shape development across the city from Cunard Building, Water Street, Liverpool.

You will deputise for the Head of Placemaking and Policy, draft reports for Cabinet and Committees, and drive corporate policy improvements while engaging with stakeholders and communities.

Qualifications

• Experience leading planning policy teams and managing resources.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Planning Policy team to ensure effective service delivery and meeting targets for the Local Plan.
• Draft reports and presentations for Cabinet meetings and Committees.
• Develop and manage the policy team's work programme.
• Lead on major projects as agreed with senior leadership.
• Provide policy advice to development management and local initiatives.
• Represent the Council as an expert during Public Inquiries and Local Plan examinations.
