Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced planning policy professional to lead the Local Plans Team and manage complex policy projects for a local authority. The role involves coordinating evidence-based plan making, advising on statutory frameworks, and guiding responses to consultations.

The position requires RTPI membership eligibility, Chartered Town Planner status, and a strong track record in Local Plans and policy development.

Qualifications

• Degree required in Town Planning or related discipline.
• Master's degree preferred in Planning or regeneration.
• RTPI membership or eligibility required.
• Chartered Town Planner status preferred.
• Experience in planning policy and local plans desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support the Group Leader in developing and implementing Local Development Frameworks.
• Lead the Local Plans Team and manage complex policy projects.
• Provide expert planning policy advice to the Council and stakeholders.
• Coordinate evidence-based plan making and public inquiries guidance.
• Prepare committee reports and policy recommendations.

Education

Town Planning degree

Master's degree in Planning/Regeneration

RTPI membership/eligibility

Chartered Town Planner status
