Job summary

Ofcom is seeking a Policy Advisor within the Online Safety Group to help shape regulatory approaches for online safety. You will work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, applying rigorous analysis and cross-functional collaboration to develop policy, evaluate options, and support evidence-based decisions.

You will engage with legal experts, technologists, economists and researchers to deliver robust policy codes and guidance, contributing to safer online experiences for UK citizens.

Qualifications

• Experience in regulatory policy development and drafting policy documents.
• Knowledge of AI, age assurance, and online platform features.
• Ability to evaluate options and support decision-making.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Collaborative and able to work with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver online safety policy work within the Online Safety Group.
• Lead and support policy development priorities and deliverables.
• Collaborate with legal, technologists, economists, researchers.
• Analyze data sources and present clear findings.
• Produce concise meeting notes, briefs, and consultation documents.
• Build relationships with online services to improve user protections.
