Ofcom is seeking Policy Advisors for the Online Safety Policy Development team to support regulatory policy work and help deliver improved online safety outcomes. You will engage with cross-functional colleagues from legal, technology, economics and research to develop robust policy codes and guidance.

Role focuses on tackling complex policy challenges in a fast-paced environment, with opportunities to influence age assurance, AI and online platform features within the Online Safety Act

Qualifications

• Previous experience of regulatory policy development, including gathering and analysing information from sources, drafting policy documents, and using evidence to support decision-making.
• Experience in policy development and knowledge in one or more of the following areas: AI, age assurance, and online platform features and functionalities (e.g., Proactive Tech, Recommender Systems & Content Moderation).

Responsabilités

• Uses initiative to understand and articulate how work contributes to One Ofcom priorities.
• Uses professional/operational knowledge to deliver priorities on time and to a high standard.
• Support project teams to solve complex policy problems by developing options and considering practicality, risks and long-term implications.
• Research and analyse multiple data sources on particular topics and draw conclusions for the wider team.
• Ensure delivery of clear, concise documents for internal or external publication.
• Provide practical project management support to work areas, such as setting up meetings, project planning and feeding into programme management.
• Support your team to build relationships with online services to understand and improve protections for users.
• Develop and foster online expertise across Ofcom’s online work programme and keep abreast of online trends and regulatory landscape.
