Job summary

Acmedsci, based in London, seeks a Policy Analysis lead to direct the Analysis Function within the Policy Directorate. You will oversee rapid responses, horizon scanning and evidence syntheses to support policy development and external affairs.

You will engage with government and research networks, coordinate multi‑method projects, and ensure timely, high‑quality analytical outputs for decision‑makers.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in analytical or evidence functions.
• Expertise in methods: evidence synthesis, horizon scanning, data analysis, modelling, forecasting.
• Experience in quality assurance of analytical work and standards.
• Proven ability to communicate complex findings to non-technical partners including government.
• Experience working at pace across multiple projects.
• Strong understanding of UK science, research and health policy landscape.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice and guidance in support of policy analysis.
• Lead rapid response and horizon scanning for policy opportunities.
• Manage design and delivery of evidence syntheses, horizon scanning, modelling, and evaluations.
• Coordinate project planning and evidence gathering within the Analysis Function.
• Support commissioning external analysis where appropriate.
• Regularly report on progress, risks and issues to Head of Policy Analysis.
• Build analytical partnerships with government, NHS, ONS, academia and funders.
• Represent the Academy in analytical forums and with External Affairs team.
