Job summary

The Academy of Medical Sciences in London invites applications for a permanent Policy Analysis role within the Policy Directorate. You will lead analytical activities, guide methodological approaches and support policy development with rigorous evidence.

Reporting to the Head of Policy Analysis, you will manage rapid responses, horizon scanning and evidence syntheses, while building external credibility with government, funders and researchers. Hybrid working is supported.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience working in analytical or evidence functions.
• Expertise in analytical methods: evidence synthesis, horizon scanning, modelling, forecasting.
• Experience with analytical QA and establishing standards.
• Ability to convey complex analytical findings clearly to non-technical partners.
• Experience working at pace and managing multiple projects.
• Good understanding of UK science, research and health policy landscape.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice to develop the Analysis Function’s strategy, governance and ways of working.
• Lead the Policy Directorate’s rapid response and horizon scanning activities.
• Project manage analytical projects including evidence synthesis, modelling and evaluation.
• Build analytical partnerships with government, academia and external stakeholders.
• Report on progress, risks and issues to the Head of Policy Analysis.
