Job summary

The Wales Office in Cardiff is seeking a policy-focused professional to support the governance, assurance and delivery of UK Government investment programmes in Wales. The post holder will build relationships across Whitehall and with external stakeholders to maximise the impact of UK Government funding.

You will work to monitor performance, develop evidence bases for ministerial briefings, and provide Ministers with policy advice on regional growth initiatives in Wales.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a high-demand policy environment.
• Proven ability to provide policy advice to senior stakeholders through briefing and correspondence.
• Ability to work under time pressure and manage multiple tasks.
• Excellent written and oral business communication skills.
• Experience using data to monitor performance and support policy or programme delivery.

Responsibilities

• Brief policy stakeholders ahead of important meetings with external partners.
• Prepare for Parliamentary engagements and Welsh Orals sessions.
• Collaborate with Whitehall departments and external stakeholders across regional growth deals.
• Communicate and manage relationships with Local Authorities and Welsh Government.
• Support governance and assurance for Local Growth Fund and Pride in Place Programme.
• Monitor programme delivery and develop systems to track outputs/outcomes.
