Job summary

National Farmers’ Union (NFU) is seeking a Policy Adviser for Horticulture and Potatoes to shape policy that supports productive farming and resilient grower businesses. You will work with growers, industry bodies and government officials to identify issues and translate evidence into persuasive policy positions.

You’ll become a trusted resource for NFU members and colleagues, influencing decisions that affect horticultural businesses across England and Wales, with agile and flexible work

Qualifications

Industry knowledge of fresh produce or horticulture.
Strong policy engagement experience.
Able to build and manage relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Analytical thinker with problem-solving skills.
Excellent communicator capable of presenting complex issues clearly.

Responsibilities

Support and shape policy across horticulture and potatoes.
Develop and deliver policy to support productive farming.
Collaborate with growers, packers, industry bodies and government officials.
Identify emerging issues and convert evidence into policy positions.
Represent NFU at meetings and communicate with members and stakeholders.
