Job summary

Cambridgeshire Constabulary is seeking skilled vehicle technicians to maintain and repair a fleet of over 460 police vehicles and associated plant. You will service mechanical, electrical and electronic systems, perform safety inspections and diagnostics, and document all work with job sheets and time records.

The role requires previous motor vehicle workshop experience, a related apprenticeship, and City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Experience in a motor vehicle workshop environment.
• Apprenticeship in motor vehicle trade and City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent; MOT tester qualification desirable.
• Must hold a full current driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, service and repair mechanical, electrical and electronic components of police vehicles and plant.
• Attend vehicle breakdowns and complete job sheets, service sheets, time sheets and stores requisitions.
• Carry out safety inspections, diagnostic testing and problem solving.
