Job summary

South West Recruitment is seeking an experienced Skilled Vehicle Technician for a busy municipal fleet workshop serving Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole. You'll service, maintain and repair a varied fleet including HGVs, refuse vehicles, vans and municipal equipment, ensuring safety and legal compliance.

The role involves diagnostics, fault finding, and accurate electronic records, with opportunities to support apprentices and develop skills in a modern workshop environment.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds level qualification.
• Experience fault finding and diagnosing faults on commercial vehicles.
• Good IT skills to complete electronic records.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out inspections, examinations and safety checks.
• Diagnosing faults and completing repairs efficiently.
• Preventative maintenance and servicing.
• Repairing and maintaining HGVs, refuse collection vehicles, vans, tractors and other fleet vehicles.
• Completing accurate electronic job records and part usage.
• Working safely and ensuring compliance with Operator Licence requirements.
• Supporting apprentices and assisting with on-the-job training.
