About the Role

We are recruiting a 0-2 year PQE Solicitor to join our Police Claims team in London, Liverpool, or Manchester. This is a hybrid role requiring attendance at the office 2-3 days per week. You will initially assist in defending civil claims for police forces across England and Wales, with opportunities to handle your own caseload under supervision.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assist fee earners with case management, legal research, client reporting, and court preparation.
2. Attend client meetings, witness conferences, and court hearings to support fee earners.
3. Assist with instructing counsel and experts.
4. Respond to correspondence and inquiries promptly and accurately.
5. Achieve financial and chargeable hours targets.
6. Support the team’s business development activities.

Candidate Requirements

• Previous litigation experience and interest in police law.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Ability to work under strict deadlines and as part of a team or independently.
• Knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules is desirable.
