That's why, as a charity, we care for over a million objects and hundreds of historic sites in every part of England, from international icons to local treasures. And it's why we open them up, share their stories and find new ways for everybody to enjoy, learn, play and create.

We are looking for a PMO Officer to join our team. The role is full time, working 36hrs per week for six months maternity cover. The role is expected to be in the office in the Engine House, Swindon, minimum of one day per week. Hybrid working is available.

The Benefits
  • - Salary from £38,808, depending on skills, experience and location
  • - 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays, pro rata
  • - Matched pension contributions up to 10%
  • - Flexible hours
  • - The opportunity to progress your career within the heritage sector
  • - Apprenticeship opportunities
  • - Subscriptions to professional bodies
  • - Free access to all English Heritage sites for you and up to six friends and family members
  • - 25% discount in our shops and cafes
  • - Enhanced maternity, paternity or shared parental leave
  • - Options to buy additional leave
  • - An inclusive working atmosphere everybody is supported from all backgrounds, religions and with different needs
  • - Opportunities to go to some of our great live music and history events

As a PMO Officer, you will be working closely with project and programme managers to help ensure that projects are delivered on time whilst following English Heritage's governance framework.

You will ensure that project scopes are well defined with business benefits clearly articulated, achievable and ultimately realised.

On a day-to-day basis you will ensure that projects are effectively resourced and appropriately funded, monitoring progress to flag up risks and issues, always utilising the agreed project governance and standards to support successful delivery.

To be considered as a PMO Officer, you'll need experience in supporting monthly reporting cycles, proven report writing skills, a track record in designing processes and templates to improve efficiencies across the team and an understanding of formal project management methodologies (such as PRINCE 2).
