Job summary

Buckinghamshire Council is seeking an Assurance, Insight & Reporting Officer within the Strategic Programmes & Improvement Service. The role focuses on reliable data, governance and insightful reporting to support portfolio, programme and project governance across the Council.

You will contribute to continuous improvement of PMO processes, tools and reporting, working in a collaborative team with a strong emphasis on accuracy, insight and delivery of priorities.

Qualifications

• Experience in a PMO, programme, project or similar analytical role in a large organisation.
• Strong understanding of governance, reporting and data management processes.
• Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft 365 and PMO systems.
• Ability to analyse complex data and present clear insights.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Confidence in working with stakeholders and explaining technical information to non-specialists.
• Proactive approach to identifying issues and driving improvements.

Responsibilities

• Support PMO system configuration and maintenance.
• Serve as first point of contact for PMO system queries.
• Maintain portfolio data quality through validation checks.
• Produce dashboards, reports and management information.
• Analyse data to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities.
• Provide clear insight to inform decision making.
• Coordinate governance cycles, meetings and reporting timetables.
• Maintain PMO artefacts and document control.
• Support portfolio planning, pipeline management and demand tracking.
• Contribute to continual PMO process improvements.
