PMO (Banking & Financial Services) – Knutsford, Cheshire & remote – 4 months+

Contractor must be eligible for BPSS. Days on site: 2‑3. Must be PAYE through umbrella.

Role Description

We are looking for an experienced PMO professional to support governance, reporting, and delivery assurance for strategic programs within the client. The role involves managing program‑level controls, ensuring compliance with governance standards, and providing actionable insights to senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Governance & Control: Establish and maintain PMO frameworks, ensuring adherence to client’s policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Prepare high‑quality reports, dashboards, and MI for leadership and steering committees.
  • Financial Management: Track budgets, forecasts and actuals to ensure financial control across programs.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Monitor risks, issues and dependencies, ensuring timely escalation and resolution.
  • Resource & Capacity Planning: Support workforce planning and allocation across projects.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive process optimisation and best practices within PMO operations.
Core Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in PMO roles within Banking & Financial Services.
  • Strong understanding of governance frameworks, risk management and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency in tools such as MS Excel, Power BI, JIRA, Confluence.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PMO certifications (e.g., P3O, PMP, PRINCE2).
  • Experience in large‑scale banking transformation programmes.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery environments.
