Job summary

Education First Recruitment is seeking a dedicated PMLD Teaching Assistant for a specialist SEN school in Ealing, West London. The role provides 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with profound learning difficulties, delivering personalised activities and supporting wellbeing.

You will work with teachers and therapists, assisting with personal care, mobility and communication needs, including non-verbal pupils, to help pupils access meaningful activities and progress.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children or adults with PMLD or complex physical needs.
• Experience supporting personal care and mobility requirements.
• A caring, patient and compassionate approach.
• Understanding of sensory needs and alternative communication methods.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with moving and handling, hoisting, feeding support or working alongside therapists would be highly advantageous.

Education First is currently recruiting for caring, patient and dedicated Teaching Assistants to join a specialist SEN school in Ealing, supporting pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with experience supporting children and young people with profound learning difficulties, complex physical needs and significant communication requirements.

The successful candidate will work alongside teachers and specialist support staff to provide individualised care and learning support, helping pupils access meaningful activities, develop their communication and maintain their wellbeing and independence.
