Remedy Education is seeking a full-time PMLD Teaching Assistant in Lewisham, South East London, to support children with special educational needs in a mainstream secondary school. This rewarding role involves assisting those with complex needs and providing personal care, requiring resilience and prior experience in similar settings.
PMLD Teaching Assistant - Lewisham, South East London
Remedy Education are looking for a Teaching Assistant to support children with SEN in a mainstream Secondary school. This is a full-time position to start in ASAP. You will be required to support children with PMLD and complex needs on a 1-1 basis and administer personal care.
This role is initially temporary, however successful candidates will be brought on permanently by the school.
Although experience working with special needs in a school setting is preferred, any personal or professional experience supporting complex needs is what matters in this role to care and nurture for the individuals.
The ideal candidate will need to be resilient, as due to the complex needs of the young people they can exhibit very challenging behaviour.
Some of the young people are non-verbal, and there is a wide spectrum of needs catered for.
Although the role can have its challenges, the school is lovely, the staff are supportive and it can be incredibly rewarding.
You must be comfortable with personal care and be happy to get stuck in
