• PECS and Makaton training/experience are required.

Compassionate PMLD Teaching Assistant, enhancing educational outcomes for all students

PMLD Teaching Assistant

Location: Birmingham

Duration: Full time, ongoing

Salary: £95 – £105 per day

The School/Role:

We are seeking a full-time PMLD Teaching Assistant to start working at a fantastic special needs school in Birmingham on a long-term supply basis. This role requires at least two years of experience working with a range of special needs such as PMLD, SLD, MLD, ASD, and Complex needs in a school or healthcare environment. Key Duties:

• Constant Supervision: Provide vigilant supervision to ensure the safety of the child and others, particularly in managing disruptive behaviour.
• Building Trusting Relationships: Foster trusting relationships with students to create a supportive learning environment.
• Sensory Room Assistance: Facilitate student engagement in the sensory room to enhance their learning experience.
• Outdoor Activities: Organise and facilitate outdoor activities to promote physical activity and well-being.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teaching Assistant or relevant SEN background
• PECS and Makaton training/experience

• Valid Photo ID – Driving Licence or Passport
• Full DBS – on the update service
